Top 10 Overseas NHL Players

Logan Couture playing in the Swiss-A league for the Geneve HCHere’s a list of the top ten NHL players currently in lockout but still keeping their game shape playing in one of the many professional leagues overseas. Most of these guys have already proven that they’re the best at what they do in the NHL but they’re proving us that they still can deliver in a different kind of hockey.

NHL Team: Chicago Blackhawks

Even though he only has 3 games played i thought that the Chicago star forward deserved a spot in this list.

NHL Team: Dallas Stars

The 40 years old veteran signed a deal with the Dallas Stars but while waiting for the lockout to get resolved he’s playing for his own club in Czech Republic.

Logan Couture was one of the first young NHL’er to play overseas, So far the Sharks prospect his doing great being the best scorer on his team.

Semyon Varlamov

Lockout Team: Lokomotiv Yaroslavl

NHL Team: Colorado Avalanche

Varlamov is doing really good in the KHL so far being ranked number two in the league for Saves percentage, hopefully he’ll keep that pace for the Avalanche.

The Phoenix’s forward is doing great out there being the best scorer on his team, something we’re not used to see from him in the NHL.

Tomas Plekanec went to Kladno in Czech Republic to play with is close friend, Jaromir Jagr, so far the duo is one of the best in the league.

The Flyers veteran center, played in the Swiss-a for the 2005 lockout but this year he decided to play in Germany, and according to his stats he really seems to like it there.

Claude Giroux, the NHL’s new star player was asked by is mentor Danny Briere to join him on his trip in Germany, Giroux accepted and he’s showing that he’s still a dominant hockey player.

Malkin got the number one spot because he’s showing a lot of consistency since he’s joined the NHL and been a game changer every game he played since.
