2013 World Junior Hockey Championship – Team Canada Line-up

Written by Frank Violette

Tonight was revealed the complete line up of team Canada for the world junior championship. A lot of guys were invited to the camp in Calgary (40+ guys went to the tryouts) Monday but only 23 remains after the cuts.

And we got some good news regarding the NHL lockout, if the NHL lockout gets resolved during the World Junior Championship, Morgan Riley (Toronto), Boone Jenner (Columbus), Scott Harrington (Pittsburgh) and Ty Rattie will still play the full tournament. If we could have the same commitment for Hopkins and Huberdeau from their NHL teams, team Canada will play without the fear of losing their key players. Based from what I saw on the news Hopkins is probably going to play the full tournament because he it would be is first and only participation in this and everyone knows that a tournament like this makes every player a better player even if he already played a full season in the nhl.

Here’s the Canadian line up.

Forwards: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Mark Scheifele, Jonathan Hueberdeau, Ryan Strome, Nathan MacKinnon, Jonathan Drouin, Charles Hudon, Boone Jenner, Anthony Camara, Phillip Danault, J.C. Lipon, Brett Ritchie, Ty Rattie

Defence: Morgan Rielly, Dougie Hamilton, Griffin Reinhart, Xavier Ouellet, Scott Harrington, Ryan Murphy, Tyler Wotherspoon

Goaltenders: Malcolm Subban, Jordan Binnington, Jake Patterson

Altought Malcom Subban is expected to be the number one goaltender, from my point of view the kid did not seem solid enough between the pipes on Wednesday to be a number on goaltender, at the first sight of weekness someone else is going to take his spot.
